This has been another big weekend for FANTASTIC FORUM! Earlier today I appeared on THE NOVA COMICS SHOW, Larry Reclusado's wonderful program on FPA-TV in Fairfax County, Virginia. Larry, Jeff Daughtery of Capicons Comic and Pop Culture Conventions, the Phantom Fan and I discussed this summer's comic book movies. Look for this episode to air on FPA-TV in December. Afterwards, Larry and I talked a bit about some exciting projects he and his partners have in the works. More on that later.
This evening, my lovely wife and I attended MCM's Monty Awards Ceremony at the Black Rock Center for the Arts in Germantown, Maryland. This was the first Monty Awards for me even though FANTASTIC FORUM has been airing on MCM for several years now. The Black Rock Center was a fabulous venue for this glitzy affair in which Montgomery Community Media honors its outstanding programs. FANTASTIC FORUM won in two categories! The show was honored as the Best Arts & Humanities Program and yours truly won for Best Program Host. I was surprised and humbled to have been so recognized.
While awards are nice to receive they are fleeting. What counts is the effort to produce the highest possible quality programming. There are a number of ideas swirling around in my head. As my own harshest critic I'm dedicated to improving the show. Efforts to do so are ongoing. Keep watching, the best is yet to come!
