I recently had the pleasure of making an appearance on The Menagerie of Kick-Assery podcast series', Growing Up Geek. GUK individually focuses on one nerd and delves into their murky past to uncover the details of how they ended up as such a f**king geek. It was my turn in the barrel.
I confess that I was skeptical when Troy Jeffrey Allen approached me on this. I've participated on the standard format MOKA podcast before but this was something different. It is one thing being a member of a panel and another all together being the profile subject. Particularly when the topic of discussion is something as intensely personal as one's upbringing. I mean, he essentially wanted to know how I became who I am. I spent a bit of time reflecting on things like my first comics purchase, cosplay and convention attendance. I also thought about my earliest experiences with the comics, science fiction and fantasy genres. You can judge for yourself how well or how poorly I did. Here is a link to the podcast:
There is also the likelihood that this may evolve into a podcast opportunity for FANTASTIC FORUM. I'll keep you in the loop about that. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to my next chance to appear with Troy on The Menagerie of Kick-Assery.
Keep watching, the best is yet to come!
