Baltimore Comic Con

The FANTASTIC FORUM crew enjoyed a fabulous weekend at the annual Baltimore Comic Con! On Saturday I was joined by director/cameraman/editor Bryan Lyles (who also produces Fantasy Sports News & World Report) and journalist/writer/photographer Billie Rae Bates. Billie conducted interviews with some of the most respected talents in the comics industry. Look for Walking Dead's Charlie Adlard as well as Walt Simonson of Thor fame to appear in upcoming episodes. And panelist Roberto Ortiz caught Jose Luis Garcia Lopez for the cherry on top of the sundae.

On Sunday I sat down with Amanda Connor, Jason Aaron, David Finch and the legendary Mike Grell. I was totally pooped out by the end of the day.

And there were some terrific cosplayers at this show! Check out the FANTASTIC FORUM Facebook page for a peek at the great costumes.

But the thing I loved most about the convention was the presence of other comic TV shows at the event. One of my goals when I began production five years ago was to promote media that covered the comics industry. There have been a number of conventions where I was the only show at the show. For Baltimore I was joined by Larry Reclusado of THE NOVA COMIC BOOK SHOW and Stephanie Cristancho and James Lewis of COMIC VIBE. I encourage you to seek out and support these fine programs on the genres you love by their dedicated producers.

As for me, I'm back in the editing booth. Gotta crank out another episode. And then it's back into the studio for the next taping. Oh, one more thing that I almost forgot. I talked to the lovely Gina Geppi of Geppi's Entertainment Museum. The special on GEM and the featured segment drew in some fans to the museum! I was delighted to learn that someone new discovered this treasure from having seen it on FF! If you haven't been there you're cheating yourself of a great comic and pop-culture experience. You heard it here. Keep watching, the best is yet to come!
