In Loving Memory - Panelist Martin Bosworth
Welcome to the Menagerie!
I had the good fortune to participate in a podcast over the weekend. My friend, Troy Allen, invited me to sit in for The Menagerie of Kick-Assery. And it was quite an experience. Along with Nik Henderson, Gene Green and Derek Scarzella we discussed the summer of movies 2011. Outside of a brief appearance on Harry Cee's The Next Issue, I've never done a podcast. Aside from being a lot of fun it started me thinking, which is always dangerous.
My one regret about the discussion portion of FANTASTIC FORUM is that it is brief. Now that is out of necessity as the entire show is only thirty minutes. We generally end up with somewhere between eighteen and twenty two minutes for the panel. That doesn't afford enough time to fully explore the majority of topics presented. But a podcast gives you an opportunity to really get to the meat of a discussion.
What's next? An FF podcast? Hmmmmmm.
In the meantime, I'm gearing up for this weekend's Baltimore Comic-con. I've already got some great interviews lined up. And the very talented Ms. Billie Rae Bates from BRB-TV and COMICS CONTINUUM will be conducting some of them. Billie Rae and I met last year in Baltimore and I've been trying ever since to get her on FF. She was busy for the taping of the WOMEN IN COMICS episode #28 but I look forward to coaxing Billie Rae onto a panel in the near future. Keep watching this space for news and information. The best is yet to come!
